I like to go to the beach, and LOVE the sun. I know that it is bad and can cause pre-mature aging, like wrinkles and crows feet. What can I do to prevent the wrinkles and discolored skin when I go outside and into the summer sun? And I%26#039;m not a huge fan of the %26#039;wear sunglasses when you tan%26#039; thing. Doesn%26#039;t it make those hideous sunglasses-print on your skin so you have pale skin where your sunglasses used to be? HELP!|||When your skin absorbs the sun%26#039;s rays, those rays actually damage the DNA in your skin%26#039;s cells. This damage causes the cells to become dysfunctional. Dysfunctional cells don%26#039;t behave properly, the results of which include a reduction in the production of collagen and elastin (the substances in the skin that support it and make it plump and healthy), a thinning of the top layer of skin, a halt in the skin%26#039;s natural ability to slough off its dead layers, and a rise in pigmentation. In the worst cases, these dysfunctional cells can become
cancerous.
What You Can Do to Reverse the Damage
Believe it or not, there are several types of products you can use to reverse sun damage. They include:
鈥? Wearing sunscreen everyday. By doing so, you%26#039;ll protect your skin from further damage, and halt any early changes in the skin that may be occurring. In fact, a study in Australia showed that simply using sunscreen can reverse the activity of precancerous cells. Use an SPF of at least 15 daily.
鈥? Using topical retinoids. Prescription Vitamin A products like Retin-A have been proven to normalize the damaged cells in sun-damaged skin. Using Retin-A can plump up the cells in the top layer of skin, revive depleted collagen and elastin, increase blood flow to the skin, and slough off dull, dead skin cells..
鈥? Trying topical green tea and Vitamin C. These ingredients are antioxidants, which neutralize the toxic by-products created in the skin when it%26#039;s exposed to sun. And according to the Amercian Academy of Dermatology, studies of topical green tea have shown it
to inhibit the growth of cancerous cells.
鈥? Using topical peptides. . Peptides, specifically, are chains of amino acids that induce a specific response to the skin. In other words, they tell the skin to repair it鈥檚 self. Peptides are the newest ingredient in the fight against aging and sun damage.
. Aloe Vera - Natural is better. Today many ancient tales of the healing powers of Aloe Vera are factual, rather than fanciful, as modern medicine unlocks the secrets contained within the leaves. The gel appears to contain a %26quot;WOUND HORMONE%26quot; that accelerates the rates of healing of injured surfaces. Scientists have found that the Aloe Vera %26quot;GEL%26quot; is a diverse mixture of ANTIBIOTIC, ASTRINGENT, COAGULATING AGENT, PAIN INHIBITOR, CELL GROWTH STIMULATOR and SCAR INHIBITOR.
Although Scientists have not yet discovered all the secrets of why Aloe Vera works - they do realize that it is the %26quot;Specific Mixture of the Ingredients%26quot; in Aloe Vera that is responsible for giving the plant it%26#039;s wide range of healing powers.
Get the Facts
鈥? Year-round sun protection is important
鈥? The sun%26#039;s harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation can penetrate many types of clothes
鈥? It can also go through automobile and residential windows
鈥? It can damage your eyes, contributing to cataracts, macular degeneration, and eyelid cancers
鈥? When you%26#039;re on snow, ice, or water your face and eyes are at almost twice the risk of UV damage because of

How do I prevent getting any more loose skin and get rid of current loose skin?
I am a 16 year old male and have lose 40 pounds within 4 months. Instead of losing the reccomended amounts of 1-3 pounds a week I have been losing 4-5 pounds a week. I started out at 231 I am now 191. I fear I have lost lean muscle tissue in some areas. Even though I have increased protein intake (with bars and shakes) and the amount of resistance training. I also started eating less. Going from 2600 calories making my way gradually to 1900-2000 calories. I also started exercising 2 and a half to 3 hours a day. I feel that I am getting loose skin. At what age does skin start showing signs of ageing?
I know we are all different but what are the 1st signs of ageing on your face? How old are you and do you have any signs of ageing?|||1 day old our faces start to age technically.|||If you have had a lot of sun exposure, smoke a lot, and/or drink a lot of alcohol and caffeine it can start showing up in your early to mid-20s.
If you wear sunscreen, moisturise every day and night, don%26#039;t smoke and drink lots of water, you%26#039;ll start to see signs in your late 20s or even early 30s
If you have darker skin, you%26#039;ll see signs of ageing later than fair skin|||I am 32 and have the faintest trace of fine lines around my eyes (only really noticeable in a magnifying mirror), but other than that my skin is completely smooth. I have never smoked, have always avoided the sun and both my parents look much younger than their age. I am always suprised when I see photos of celebrities with noticeable lines and wrinkles and then realise that they are younger than me.
I think the main problem with getting older is you lose that freshness of youth. Ten years ago I could go to work after hardly any sleep and still look relatively fresh-faced. Now, if I don%26#039;t get enough sleep or I overdo it my skin looks tired.|||To be honest I don%26#039;t know exactly what age women normally age at on average (as it will vary greatly for everyone). What is the best skin moisturizer to use?
I%26#039;d like something that will give my skin a shine and glow that lasts even hours after being applied.Something that will keep my skin moist and soft.|||We have a lot of minerals in the water where I live and ever since moving here the water actually dries out my skin when I take a shower. It got so bad that my skin on my back got raw and red and would itch really bad when I got out of the shower.
Anyway, this girl I know recommended that I use this stuff by Olay called Quench. I use the form intended for in-shower application and I also use the Olay bath soap of the same name. Basically, I just wash with the soap, then rinse like usual. After that, while still in the shower, I massage the lotion in and rinse that off. Be careful because it can make the floor of your shower a bit more slippery than usual.
Anyway, the stuff works great and not only did it repair my damaged skin in less than a week, but it keeps my skin looking totally fresh and supple and healthy and my skin feels really soft, too; like a baby%26#039;s skin. It%26#039;s a great product, IMO.
I think they also have a version of the lotion that you can use after you have exited the shower and you%26#039;ve dried off. So if you don%26#039;t want to use the in-shower version, then you%26#039;ve got a choice.
