Also, eating a healthy diet of raw and lightly cooked vegetables and drinking lots of water. If you are a meat eater, Angus beef and kosher meats like chicken and turkey are great too because those meats are not fed any animal products. They do not contribute to breakouts. Be aware of breakout triggers like chocolate or olive oil and cut down or eliminate them from your diet.

Whole milk is a great exfoliater. It%26#039;s inexpensive and it sloughs off dead skin. Great instead of using bubble bath. Pour in a cup of milk while running the bath will do the trick. Use a gentle exfoliating accessory like the Plush Chenille Bath Ruffle from the Body Shop:

www.thebodyshop.com|||Always exfoliate your skin. Even though you have oily skin the reason why it is looking dull is the dead skin cells. Exfoliate your skin at least twice a week. You will notice huge differences in your skin!

How can I prevent skin from drying out from chlorine water?

I have 2 sons ages 12 and 10 who are both in swimming lessons 3 days a week. It%26#039;s in a inside pool, lots of chlorine and their lesson lasts 75 minutes long. They have extremely smooth delicate skin, but we all know chlorine dries our skin out horribly.

What can I do to prevent their skin from drying out like this?|||Try applying an Aqueous cream before and after swimming.

Also a fresh shower and hair wash helps me.|||i found that E 45 cream is good ..and it is not oily|||Try rubbing emu oil before they go into the pool. It acts as a waterproof barrier and will keep the skin moisturised.|||I have the same problem. My eyes swell up as well.

Water by itself dries out skin, curiously enough. I usually just use aloe vera cream for where it gets sore, mostly my face. But I have heard of emollient (?) cream which skin sufferers rub on before taking a bath. How you get kids to do that is a parental skill I never had to learn.

Also, in the UK our drinking water is treated with either chlorine or ammonia, both salts which damage skin cells. So think about either bottle water or a water filtration system or, like me, give them beer.|||when they shower, use a mild exfoliant once or twice a week, this will help to release the chemicals in the chlorine into the water and away from thier skin.

Following this, while the skin is damp (not wet, not bone dry) use vitamin E45 cream or if you are very rich, elizabeth arden 8 hour cream, this will help keep the skin moisturised. Id advise baby lotion but I doubt they will appeal to this and will hate you for making them smell like a baby.

Rinse after every swim at the pool, but in terms of showering and washing properly, use your own home shower, the ones at gyms have to be ultra safe so the tend to add even more chlorine in the water there.

There are shampoos and conditioners for swimmers, but I dont think any skin care exists for this.

If you have the time, its also worth putting on a thin coating of vaseline or vitamin E before they swik, not so much it makes them sticky, but enough to protect them a little more while swimming.|||Go to ( genniesalve.com ) This stuff is great! And all natural to.Its been helping other people alot.Go check it out, and see for yourself. You wont be sorry. Put it on and you will see a difference very soon.

How long will my skin take to recover from tanning for a few months?

Stoppped tanning now for just over a month, but before reuglarly tanned since april for about 6moths or so.

My tans fading very slowly as it was built up slowly.

How long will my skin take to recover?|||It might take a little longer than 5 months.

But to speed up the process, use lotion with aloe in it.

How do you keep skin from becoming to dry during winter?

It has gotten cold where I live, and my sking has become dryer that usual. I use a body lotion everyday after the shower, but by the end of the day it dry like I haven%26#039;t use any. I used a body wash with moisturizers in it, but that did not help much. I have some aloe vera at home that I am thinking about using. I am also drinking more water. What else can I use on my sking to keep it from becoming dry.|||Buy a humidifier for your house. It will keep your skin mouist during the winter, and they are really cheap, likw 30 bucks @ walmart.|||Eating lots of fruit and vegetables is also supposed to be good for your skin.|||After shower, apply a light body oil while your skin is still damp. Massage gently. Wipe off the excess with a wet towel.|||Chapstick|||use a lotion but use it OFTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!|||Have you tried baby oil? those when you apply after shower when your skin is still damp? it supposed to lock moisture in better than any body lotions.

try that and see...|||use a body butter or body cream instead of lotion :)|||After each shower or bath, smooth on lotion for extra dry skin.|||baby oil or any type of moisturiser gud luck|||take plain petroleum jelly(vasoline) after the shower and you dry off ,rub into the skin it works great, does not cost much, and lasts a long time.also keeps skin young longer and does not come off on clothes. You don%26#039;t use too much.|||You need to use a rich moisturizer - one that contains shea butter. It will absorb quickly into skin but will keep it moisturized all day.|||Jergens original lotion. Best ever.|||I have found that Cetaphil cream works best-it lasts a lot longer than lotion. It comes in a tub %26amp; costs about $11, but it will last a long time... Apply right out of the shower while your skin is still moist|||I know what works and it%26#039;s Soy Pete lotions! Check them out because it is amazing! The lotion is made with soy and stays on your skin even through washing your hands over and over again! I love it! It fairly inexpensive too.

http://www.soypete.com/index.shtml|||I would like to give you a good tip. Everybody thinks that you sort dry skin out topically. Well the secret is, to take your omega fatty acids, so that you can feed your body the oil from the inside. Ask any italian, and they never ever suffer with dry skin, because of all the olive oil they consume etc. Good luck, coz it can be uncomfortable|||In addition to what you already are doing- drinking more water, using moisturizer- Keep the heat in yoour home a bit lower, and run a humidifer or a vaporizer- this adds moisture to the air which will help your skin from drying out so much from the heat and cold air.|||Don%26#039;t use lotion or gels.

In the winter, you need to switch to a heavier formula of moisturizer.

Try using a body butter or creme each morning and night.

Also, Badger Balm is wonderful..you can find it on the web. It%26#039;s a heavy duty salve for really dry areas...like knees, ankles and elbows.

How long does your skin hurt after laser hair removal?

Because my butt is still hurting and preperation H is not helping much.|||i can see by your profile photo that your bhole is looking mighty red and angry....sit in the bedette and relax awhile|||I recommend an Arkansas bikini wax.

Nothing cheaper than duct tape.|||Sweetie..... I told you that my Nair would have done the same thing with only HALF the chaffing. As for that preparation H? I%26#039;d just sit on it.|||You must have gone to Dr. Hide%26#039;s %26quot;Wild hair up the ***%26quot;

Laser Hair Removal Centers.

They say it takes 6-8 months for the itching and burning to subside.....|||It did hurt me at all, but I did not do it in my butt. Try cool aloe vera gel, it helps the skin a lot.|||Are you serious?|||Oohh, try aloe vera gel, the one with no additives, i think GNC carries it. Also, some thermal water mist like Av茅ne or Vichy or La-Roche Possay (i dunno who carries it).

If not, ask whoever did the treatment, i suppose there%26#039;s a responsible doctor.

Good luck!

What is a good skin lightener/bleach product to use from drug stores?

I have sensitive skin. I want to get rid of dark blotches of skin and lighten my skin tone without my skin drying out. Thanks.|||Sensitive skin should be treated only by a dermatologist. For dark spots; HYDROQUINE is great with the pigmentation. Reduces the dark spots really well. If you skin lightens easily, Palmer%26#039;s make mild 2% hydroquine which is avaialable in most stores.|||There are a bunch of skin care products you can find in drugstores that contain the active ingredient Hydroquinone which lightens skin and skin discolorations. Its mild and does help after some time of using it but its nothing too drastic. The brand I use is Porcelana. It evens out the skin tone and lightens my birthmark on my face. You should try it and see how it works for you.|||Many beauty products on the market have harmful chemicals in them; do your favorite beauty products contain any of these things?:

* Mineral Oil, Paraffin, and Petrolatum – Petroleum products that coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatologic issues. Slows cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer. Disruptive of hormonal activity. By the way, when there’s an oil spill in the ocean, don’t they rush to clean it up – fast? Why put that stuff on your skin?

* Parabens – Widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic industry (including moisturizers). An estimated 13,200 cosmetic and skin care products contain parabens. Studies implicate their connection with cancer. They have hormone-disrupting qualities – mimicking estrogen – and interfere with the body’s endocrine system.

* Phenol carbolic acid– Found in many lotions and skin creams. Can cause circulatory collapse, paralysis, convulsions, coma and even death from respiratory failure.

* Propylene glycol – Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics and as a carrier in fragrance oils. Shown to cause dermatitis, kidney or liver abnormalities, and may inhibit skin cell growth or cause skin irritation.

* Acrylamide– Found in many hand and face creams. Linked to mammary tumors in lab research.

* Sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES)– Found in car washes, engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners… and in over 90% of personal care products! SLS breaks down the skin’s moisture barrier, easily penetrates the skin, and allows other chemicals to easily penetrate. Combined with other chemicals, SLS becomes a “nitrosamine”, a potent class of carcinogen. It can also cause hair loss. SLES is sometimes disguised with the labeling “comes from coconut” or “coconut-derived

* Toluene – Poison! Danger! Harmful or fatal if swallowed! Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Made from petroleum or coal tar, and found in most synthetic fragrances. Chronic exposure linked to anemia, lowered blood cell count, liver or kidney damage, and may affect a developing fetus. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) contains toluene. Other names may include benzoic and benzyl.

* Dioxane– Found in compounds known as PEG, Polysorbates, Laureth, ethoxylated alcohols. Common in a wide range of personal care products. The compounds are usually contaminated with high concentrations of highly volatile 1,4-dioxane, easily absorbed through the skin.

Dioxane’s carcinogenicity was first reported in 1965 and later confirmed in studies including one from the National Cancer Institute in 1978. Nasal passages and liver are the most vulnerable. Dioxane is easily removed during the manufacturing process by “vacuum stripping”.

Warning: It is a synthetic derivative of coconut. Watch for hidden language on labels, such as “comes from coconut”.

IF SO, you should throw them away IMMEDIATELY and substitute virgin/extra virgin olive oil or natural coconut oil in the meantime until you find a better alternative!!! Tell ALL your friends and family!!!|||my fave is dermaline skin whitening cream.. it%26#039;s a potent skin lightener worth your $9 but you can buy it online.

What really happens to skin when it gets sunburnt?

Which are the wavelengths, that are most harmful? What is UVA %26amp; UVB?|||http://health.howstuffworks.com/sunscree鈥?/a>

%26quot;Sunlight arrives on earth in three forms: infrared (heat), visible light and ultraviolet. Ultraviolet light is classified into three categories:

UVA (315 to 400 nm), also known as black light, which causes tanning

UVB (280 to 315 nm), which causes damage in the form of sunburn

UVC (100 to 280 nm), which is filtered out by the atmosphere and never reaches us.

99% of the sun%26#039;s UV radiation at sea level is UVA. It is the UVB that causes most of the problems related to sun exposure: things like aging, wrinkles, cancer and so on, although research is increasingly implicating UVA as well.

One of the interesting things about UV radiation is that it is reflected by different surfaces. These reflections can amplify the effects of UV exposure. For example, snow reflects 90% of UV light. That is why you can get snow blindness and severe sunburns from skiing on a sunny day. Sand can reflect up to 20% of UVB that hits it, meaning that you can get extra UV exposure at the beach.

On the other hand, certain things absorb almost all UV radiation partially or completely. Glass is one of these substances - many glasses are very good absorbers of UV (which is why you may have heard that you cannot get sunburn in a greenhouse - just make sure it is glass and not plastic covering the greenhouse!). Most sunscreens use chemicals that have the same UV-absorbing properties.%26quot;|||i think that the skin cells just die and the vains i beleive pop.
