How does your skin peel after a sun burn?

I don%26#039;t know how to phrase this question, but simply how does your skin peel. I know that Ultraviolet radiation damages the skin cells%26#039;s DNA, and then repairs itself using enzymes.

But what is the process and how does the skin peel?|||The biggest reason skin peels is because once it is burned, it no longer has any moisture and it simply dies.|||The skin from the sunburn becomes very dry and dies, causing it to become very flakey - making it peel.
