How can I get the skin on my fingers to quit peeling?
For years, my hands have had peeling skin around the nailbed; it%26#039;s worse of course after I shower or do dishes (unfortunately our new apartment doesn%26#039;t have a dishwasher so this doesn%26#039;t help).
Lotions only mask the problem. Drinking more water helps some but it still does it. Any suggestions?|||Drink even MORE water. I know someone with this problem and doctors gave him hand cream and told him to sleep with gloves on while wearing the cream, but the only thing that is really working for him is to carry around water bottles and drink water all day long.|||i had the same problem and i dont know how well it will work for you but buy some mineral treated M water
its a mineral water that rehydrates really well and your skin is most likely dry and oily just drink some of this water and rub it into your skin as well
EDIT
this water isnt cheap so dont drink the whole bottle
its atomic make-up will mix with regular bottled water so just mix a cap-full with drinking water and then you will have a whole new bottle of m-water|||Try for a week to use a very mild soap for dishes and at the same time, especially at night or when your hands are out of water use a topical creme for athletes feet . I had the same thing for years, but it%26#039;s not the same fungus as your feet get but it works. It comes in a yellow tube and smells kinda yucky and the creme is white, but you could use lamasil creme if you prefer.

How do I improve my skin and get rid of redness?
Certain parts of my face particularly my nose and sometimes around my eyes have a reddish tone to them. What could I do to get rid of that?|||I would say don`t cover it completely. toning it down is fine, otherwise you`ll look too fake or washed out! Your face could be red for a few reasons.. Such as skin sensitivities, your skin being dry (even if it doesn`t feel or look dry, it could be dehydrated which can cause your skin to be aggravated, thus turning it reddish pink), or that your face just tends to flush more than others. Which mine does sadly.
Anyways, I would suggest that you look at your cleansing products and moisturizers, and make sure that they are good for sensitive skin. Also, make sure that you moisturize at night with something with a bit more moisture in it, since that may help reduce redness (does for me!) and then don`t be too aggressive on your face. You could try a neutralizing product, such as one by Lorac, or a green primer then apply foundation over top. Or find a foundation that is more pigmented.|||Hi!
Do you have rosacea or is it just general redness?
Assuming general redness, try using a green tinted concealer first under your foundation. It might sound scary, but the green tint are used to cover up any redness and to even out the skin tone before you put on the concealer. And not to worry, the foundation will cover up the green tint!
Actually everydayminerals.com has a free sample kit you can order online, you just have to pay for shipping ($3). They have a green tinted concealer you can choose. Hope it works for you!

How do I keep my skin healthy over the summer?
I have very fair, light Irish skin that burns easily and tans slightly. I can not stress it enough! If you want a tan use self-tanners. Remember, most self-tanners do not protect you from the sun. You still need to use sunscreen.

What are the signs of skin breakdown after a burn?
I burned my entire right arm and hand yesterday by spilling boiling water on it. I went to the hospital and they said I had second degree burns. Now, under my skin, parts of my arm are blistering and some parts look black and bruised. I am concerned about skin breakdown. Can anyone please help?|||With a first degree burn your skin is red, second degree burns are blistered, third degree burns appear extremely white. After going to an emergency room you are to follow up with your family doctor in the next day or two so the doctor can make sure you are doing okay.
I am guessing that the hospital gave you silvadene, which is a cream most often used for burns. This cream turns gray to dark gray after it has been on your skin for a while and it looks pretty gross. You should very gently wash your burn with warm water and a gentle soap, like Ivory, making sure not to break any of the blisters open. Then apply the cream the hospital gave you and loosely wrap your arm in sterile gauze. Only do that once a day until you visit your doctor. If you are really concerned about the appearance of your burn go back to the emergency room. No one can tell you if you have skin break down without actually looking at the affected area. How can I get lighter skin without buying any of the lightening products?
Please Help Me! I want to have light skin without buying lightening products what can I do?|||You could try lemon juice.|||Isn%26#039;t it funny with all the people out there baking themselves that you want to lighten your skin?|||Japanese people in certain region of Japan extensively consume a substance called Kojic Acid in their mushrooms and rice diet. They have very light skin compared to their other countrymen. We don%26#039;t eat their mushrooms daily here in the US, so we don%26#039;t consume Kojic Acid through our diet. You can either move to Japan and start a Japanese Kojic Acid diet, or you can buy kojic acid and apply it to your skin like lots of the darker international entertainment stars do. You don%26#039;t have to buy ready made brand name Kojic acid. Generic ones work perfectly fine and you can vary the strength to your liking. Kojic Acid is natural, part of the Japanese diet for centuries, non toxic and non cancer causing, unlike commercial lighteners such as Hydroquinone. Kojic acid is also quickly and visibly very effective.|||Be proud of the skin you%26#039;re in; you have a lower risk of skin cancers due to having more melanin in your skin (melanin, of course, being the reason why skin has color). I am a light-skinned black woman, and sometimes I wished I were darker so no one would ask me if I was %26#039;mixed%26#039;; now as an adult I love the skin I%26#039;m in, freckles and all.|||Love the skin you were born with!|||I am not going to ask why you want to get lighter but I am sure you have your reasons. the important thing is that you dont want to go over board by using harsh chemicals. it might be that you just want to tone out your skin colour and even it out. or maybe your face is darker than the rest of your body.
the only natural remedy I can think of is vitamin c. look for moisturisers with vitamin c. vitamin c naturally lightens the skin. also you might have to get a good sun screen lotion and avoid excess sun exposure.

What can I do to get rid of saggy skin, the skin after pimples?
I%26#039;ve been battling acne forever. Now the aftermath; the skin has now become saggy. Is there like something i can buy that can help me get rid of it?
Thanks for any tips, tricks and other oddities. ;D|||make sure to exfoliate. Try microdermabrasion it will get rid of scaring and tighten up skin. It helped me. How does an artist create skin tones using a range of ballpoint pens?
Hi, I%26#039;m an artist working with ballpoint pens on paper, I%26#039;ve made some pretty nice work with simple black on white, and recently I picked up a boatload of coloured ones. So far I%26#039;ve been unsuccessful in creating a good skin tone with them. Can anyone give me pointers as to how to get a skin tone down from pens?|||well, we learn in our drawing classes that by stippling, hatching, and cross hatching, we can develop different values of color. So with a ball point pen I have seen a lot of beautiful skin tones created using these techniques! Good luck and have fun!|||I have never used colored ball point for skin tone, just used a shading technique to give at least a tonal quality...interesting. I cant see it working really because flesh tone is created in layers of color or blended colors and ballpoint doesnt work well to either style.|||Crosshatching with yellows, reds, and oranges. Use greens and violets for shading.
Constantly stand back from your work to evaluate what to do next. Every fifteen minutes stand back.
You can crosshatch at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, %26amp; 90 degrees, for a much finer gradation of tone and hues. The horizontal, vertical and 45 degree lines of the most common crosshatching doesn%26#039;t have to be adhered to.
Experiment for about three hours with your pens before you get to your main project.
All the best to you.

What's the best known skin firming lotion and is there anything that can help stretch marks fade?
I just recently had a baby and got some stretch marks from being pumped with fluid. I was wondering what the best skin firming lotion is and if there is anything that will help fade the stretch marks faster.|||cocoa butter and vitamin E are great for that. make sure you put it on at least 2 times a day. and what i find useful is if you mix 3 parts cocoa butter lotion with 1 part baby oil. it softens skin and will lighten and smoothen your stretch marks

What would work better for skin discolorations?
PAlmers cocoa butter cream or a Vicco tumeric cream?|||I have heard of Palmers but what skin is discolored? Lotion can help prevent stretch marks but it doesn%26#039;t really work for discoloration...explain some more!
Ok so actually what i would recommend is seeing a Dermatologist! They have tons of creams and treatments to help with scars. How harmful to the eyes/skin is the curing BLUE LIGHT orthodontists use? Is wearing shades enough protection?
Although my child wears the sunglasses the orthodontist gives her, I%26#039;m concerned she may open her eyes in the process. I have read where UV exposure can cause damage to the retina. I don%26#039;t know if this can or has happened in the dental/orthodontal profession? She has more braces to be placed on and I am wondering if I am being overly concerned or not?|||We, assistants, use glasses that are tinted orange when using the curing light. I feel certain that your orthodontist is taking proper precautions and would not do anything that would harm your child%26#039;s eyes|||Honey, your being overly concerned. Seriously, how often can your child possibly be exposed to a curing light?? I look at those lights almost everyday and I haven%26#039;t had any problems with damage to my retina.
Trust me, if me looking at it numerous times a week hasn%26#039;t caused damage, it won%26#039;t hurt your kid if she accidentally opens her eyes.|||I totally agree with you. I never even thought about that. Maybe you should ask the orthodontis about the blue light.

Or how to CHANGE your undertones. Or makeup tricks. Or just anything to help me. Pleeeaaase.|||Try a self-tanning lotion. What could be causing a skin irritation under a wedding ring on that particular finger?
My wife has been experiencing an irritation on her ring finger under her wedding ring and band. A particular ointment has helped it lately but then it comes back.|||My sister and my husband had the same problem. Some people eventually develop an allergy to metals over the course of several months (like my husband) or they can get them within minutes (like my sister). How do I get lighter skin with homemade remidies or other natural ways?
I like my skin tone, however it is only my forearms that are extremly tanned - so please no %26quot;love your skin%26quot; comments. I have tried covering them up when Im outside but that gave little results. I have fair skin elsewhere but if you look at my forearms comapre to my shoulder - it looks as if it is not even on the same body.
I would like to know if there are any natural scrubs or homemade remidies that are really effective. I do not want to try bleaching either.|||Trust me, your not alone. I have sensitive skin and I get tanned VERY easily. One thing you could try is using a good sunscreen every time you step out of the house. At least it wont make your arms darker. Secondly, milk surprising helps lighter skin as well. Just take a cotton ball/ tissue and dab it into some cold milk. Rub the cotton ball/tissue on Ur arm in a circular motion and you%26#039;ll hopefully see the difference. How to deal with loose skin after excess weight loss?
I understand that it%26#039;s inevitable and that I%26#039;ll have a lot of excess/sagging skin after I lose weight. I%26#039;m planning on losing up to 100 pounds. I%26#039;m really not sure if it%26#039;s even worth it if I%26#039;m going to look bad afterward with the skin issue. I%26#039;m only 16 years old, and I know my skin has elasticity still, but it%26#039;s stretched quite a bit. I will not be getting surgery, ever. Anything I can do? I need some positive reinforcement.|||Hi loosing 100 lbs is not as easy as it sounds. First manage to loose the weight then ponder about the loose skin.

It gives a good protection and the sun cannot penetrate through no matter what and gives tender skins excellent protection.
It is very hard to use though you need a lot of practice.
I am not sure if it exists where you are. If it doesn%26#039;t then places that sell theater make up may have something similar, needs to be thick and you regulate it. Max Factor used to make one of solid thick consistency for theater with which you can improvise.
The others above are correct, in regards to wear a hat, total sun block and stay out of the sun, but at times that is impractical as we don%26#039;t always plan these things as to where we are and need vigilance and reapplication every few hours.
Dermacolour does not need reapplication but you need a special product to remove it as it does not come off easily, I used it all my life as I have a very sensitive/tender alabaster skin that does not like the sun, my skin is white. Good luck.|||stay out of the sun

How do you get your skin to become silky smooth and flawless?
I don%26#039;t have acne problems or anythink like that, but I want my skin really smooth and all my tiny blemishes gone.|||it%26#039;s quite easy now.. apply benzoyl peroxide (generic name) ointment to affected areas to heal your acne. then, before you sleep, always apply night moisturizer. when you acne heals, continue using facial cream or moisturized and always wash your face before going to bed at night and after waking up in the morning.. eat lots of fruits and vegetables, they%26#039;re a help.. avoid fatty foods...|||You may find this treatment unconventional but it has worked wonders for me and others on Answers(see my B.A.%26#039;s - flawless skin, radiantly healthy skin, etc.). I researched and experimented for a long time and found massaging using safe, essential oils was the most effective treatment to maintain healthiness of skin, rid it of all blemishes and keep it young looking. Oils feed skin essential beneficial nutrients. You will see results even in one day. Don%26#039;t be afraid of thorough massaging. If done right it is only beneficial. There is no pulling or stretching of skin as you have to tighten face muscles in order to tighten or flex skin in the part being massaged and in doing so it exercises and conditions many of face (and some neck) muscles which counteract face aging, whilst skin is being firmed, smoothed and toned by massage. Massage is best done by using a forward and back motion using finger tips and front and sides of fingers. Circular motion is less effective. In a few days skin will visibly tighten, start to glow and look and feel smoother and day by day blemishes will fade. This is the best treatment to promote and maintain, a totally healthy, young looking skin.

How do I prevent skin irritation on my neck from shaving?
I have to shave each day for work, so shaving every second day isn%26#039;t an option. Right now I%26#039;m using a Mach 3. I%26#039;ve tried using Neutrogena Razor Defense and Nivea after shave sensitive balm, but the results aren%26#039;t what I want.|||This is the best solution I found after much experimentation. First massage skin very thoroughly with an essential oil(olive , coconut, almond are very good) Then apply shaving cream on top. I actually do not like shaving creams so I use body lotion. Then shave. No matter how close you shave you will not get any rritation or razor burn. You will not need any after shave balms or whatever. They simply don%26#039;t help, are expensive and a waste of money. If you massage skin with oil frequently it will greatly benefit it and make it not so sensitive.

Everytime my skin is exposed to hot water my skin starts to continually itch and I have pityriasis rosea as well and it has an even worse reaction to it. I%26#039;m just wondering why is my skin so sensitive to hot water?|||it could be because hot water dries your skin. the hotter the water the more drying it is . try shorter showers and don%26#039;t soak in a tub put an unscented moisturizer on after the shower.|||I get that too, I think its something to do with the sudden change in tempreture its nothing to worry about, just try not to have such a hot bath or shower.|||any itching becomes worse when you get hot, wash in cooler water and treat the underlying problem. How to clean friut skin to get rid of harmful chemical?

These you should buy organic: Apples, bell peppers, celery, cherries, imported grapes, nectarines, peaches, pears, potatoes, red raspberries, spinach, and strawberries.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s own lab testing reveals that even after washing, some fruits and vegetables consistently carry much higher levels of pesticide residue than others. Based on an analysis of more than 100,000 U.S. government pesticide test results, researchers at the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a research and advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C., have developed the “dirty dozen” fruits and vegetables, above, that they say you should always buy organic if possible because their conventionally grown counterparts tend to be laden with pesticides. Among fruits, nectarines had the highest percentage testing positive for pesticide residue. Peaches and red raspberries had the most pesticides (nine) on a single sample. Among vegetables, celery and spinach most often carried pesticides, with spinach having the highest number (10) on a single sample.|||Cleaning the fruit with water will do the trick, or buy a cleaning solution for fruit and veggies (most stores sell it in the veggie isles)...or go organic:O)|||Wash it under cold, running water.

How to change the skin on your "welcome" login bit when you start the computer?

How to get soft skin with home products?
My skin on my face is hard and gross. How can I get it soft without buying products at the store?|||Well if it%26#039;s dead skin, you should scrub it...when washing your face, take some sugar and scrub to get the dead skin off.
Also, put honey on your face and let it sit till it dries and then rinse it off. I%26#039;d try doing the honey first and then scrubbing it...it should help!|||1. Cleanse your skin once a day with soap free body wash, water, and a soft sponge.
2. The MOST important step- Ex-fo-li-ate! Exfoliate once week or once a fortnight if you have sensitive skin. It will remove dead skin cells, dirt and oil and will leave your skin baby soft! You can do this with an exfoliating puff, exfoliating shower gloves or with an exfoliating scrub. (store bought or hand made)
3. Pat dry with a big fluffy towel. Don%26#039;t rub or scrub - this damages your skin and also creates wrinkles later on in life.
4. Apply lotion, cream or body oil before you leave the steam-filled bathroom. This is the best time to moisturize your skin because your pores are still open and your skin is still moist.
5. Wear sunblock if you%26#039;re going to step outside of your house. One of the reasons babies have such soft skin is that they haven%26#039;t been exposed to the harmful effects of UV rays
[edit] Tips
* For particularly rough dry areas such as feet %26amp; elbows slather on some lotion or body oil before you go to bed, when you wake up they will feel a whole lot better.
* Drink half your weight in ounces of water every day. For example, if you weigh 140 lbs, you should drink 70 ounces of water every day, this will keep your skin hydrated from the inside out.
* Take a daily multivitamin to help your skin fight off damage and wrinkles.
* Gentle, ph balanced, soap free body wash is best for your skin, soap can be very drying %26amp; contains a lot of chemicals that can damage skin cells.
* Add a handful of sugar (brown sugar works best) to your favorite lotion and mix. Rub it into your dry skin and then towel it off.
* Brazillian women have some of the smoothest, sexiest skin in the world, whilst at the beach they will often get a hand full of sand %26amp; rub it over their thighs, elbows %26amp; bum cheeks to exfoliate.
* Try a milk %26amp; honey bath for a luxurious way to baby soft skin, run yourself a warm bath, add about half a litre of milk, about 3 tablespoons of honey (this is not enough to make you sticky) and break open a vitamin e capsule into the water.
[edit] Warnings
* Remember that your skin is your body%26#039;s largest and most vulnerable organ. Take good care of it!
* When using sugar %26amp; honey for bathing, try to avoid your genital area as sugar can cause yeast infections. Do not use the milk and honey bath more than once a month.|||I use white vinegar in my bath %26amp; rinse my hair after shampooing with it. After this I use conditioner. I have dry patches of skin on my arms for 4 years and would like to know how to get rid of them?

I have psoriasis, and have had to deal with this problem all my life. From your description your condition sounds similar, have you seen a dermotologist? The best way to get rid of the patches for myself has been to use an herbal tonic, taken orally, TAC-A-WAH Indian Tonic. It cleans out your system. Follow dosing instructions closely.
Along with the tonic, I use Hydraston ointment. I noticed a difference the first time I tried them. I wish I had known about this stuff when I was 13. I got both these items at the same time at an Amish store. Drink more water.
Believe me I have tried just about everything, and this was the only thing that ever worked for me. I used to have it in my hair, on my back, knees, ankles, elbows, arms, on the face, stomach, very embarassing, it permanently damaged my self-image. The summer months, I was always in the sun, and that seemed to help a lot. It took all summer to get rid of those light spots.

What is the hottest temperature skin can handle before it burns?
It%26#039;s difficult to put an exact temperature at which water will cause physical damage. Above about 60oC water becomes uncomfortably hot, and you will want to remove your hand (or foot or whatever) from it quite quickly, but it will not cause any medium term damage. At the boiling point, 100oC, water will scald quickly, producing the usual large blisters. Even then, it%26#039;s rarely fatal except for cases of extensive scalding or for very young or very old people. However, it is painful and can cause scarring.
Most domestic boilers contain internal controls to prevent the production of water at a temperature which could be dangerous, apart from the control on the front of the boiler which allows you to set the water temperature for the central heating. If these are not functioning correctly I%26#039;d suggest you get a (Corgi) engineer in fairly promptly.|||Hmm, I think that is left up to experiment considering some of us have thicker skin than others.

What causes moles on the skin and how to get rid of them without surgery?
What condition causes their growth and are there any natural remedies to get rid of them?|||Genes can have an influence on a person%26#039;s moles.
Dysplastic nevi and atypical mole syndrome are hereditary conditions which causes a person to have a large quantity of moles (often 100 or more) with some larger than normal or atypical. This often leads to a higher risk of melanoma, a serious skin cancer.[3] Dysplastic nevi are more likely than ordinary moles to become cancerous. Dysplastic nevi are common, and many people have a few of these abnormal moles. Having more than 50 ordinary moles increases the risk of developing melanoma.[4]
In the overall population, a slight majority of melanomas do not form in an existing mole, but rather create a new growth on the skin. Nevertheless, those with dysplastic nevi are at a higher risk of melanoma occurring not only where there is an existing mole, but surprisingly, also where there are none.[5][6] Such persons need to be checked regularly for any changes in their moles and to note any new ones.

How can I keep my skin glowing and smooth in the summer?
I like to go to the beach, and LOVE the sun. I know that it is bad and can cause pre-mature aging, like wrinkles and crows feet. What can I do to prevent the wrinkles and discolored skin when I go outside and into the summer sun? And I%26#039;m not a huge fan of the %26#039;wear sunglasses when you tan%26#039; thing. Doesn%26#039;t it make those hideous sunglasses-print on your skin so you have pale skin where your sunglasses used to be? HELP!|||When your skin absorbs the sun%26#039;s rays, those rays actually damage the DNA in your skin%26#039;s cells. This damage causes the cells to become dysfunctional. Dysfunctional cells don%26#039;t behave properly, the results of which include a reduction in the production of collagen and elastin (the substances in the skin that support it and make it plump and healthy), a thinning of the top layer of skin, a halt in the skin%26#039;s natural ability to slough off its dead layers, and a rise in pigmentation. In the worst cases, these dysfunctional cells can become
cancerous.
What You Can Do to Reverse the Damage
Believe it or not, there are several types of products you can use to reverse sun damage. They include:
鈥? Wearing sunscreen everyday. By doing so, you%26#039;ll protect your skin from further damage, and halt any early changes in the skin that may be occurring. In fact, a study in Australia showed that simply using sunscreen can reverse the activity of precancerous cells. Use an SPF of at least 15 daily.
鈥? Using topical retinoids. Prescription Vitamin A products like Retin-A have been proven to normalize the damaged cells in sun-damaged skin. Using Retin-A can plump up the cells in the top layer of skin, revive depleted collagen and elastin, increase blood flow to the skin, and slough off dull, dead skin cells..
鈥? Trying topical green tea and Vitamin C. These ingredients are antioxidants, which neutralize the toxic by-products created in the skin when it%26#039;s exposed to sun. And according to the Amercian Academy of Dermatology, studies of topical green tea have shown it
to inhibit the growth of cancerous cells.
鈥? Using topical peptides. . Peptides, specifically, are chains of amino acids that induce a specific response to the skin. In other words, they tell the skin to repair it鈥檚 self. Peptides are the newest ingredient in the fight against aging and sun damage.
. Aloe Vera - Natural is better. Today many ancient tales of the healing powers of Aloe Vera are factual, rather than fanciful, as modern medicine unlocks the secrets contained within the leaves. The gel appears to contain a %26quot;WOUND HORMONE%26quot; that accelerates the rates of healing of injured surfaces. Scientists have found that the Aloe Vera %26quot;GEL%26quot; is a diverse mixture of ANTIBIOTIC, ASTRINGENT, COAGULATING AGENT, PAIN INHIBITOR, CELL GROWTH STIMULATOR and SCAR INHIBITOR.
Although Scientists have not yet discovered all the secrets of why Aloe Vera works - they do realize that it is the %26quot;Specific Mixture of the Ingredients%26quot; in Aloe Vera that is responsible for giving the plant it%26#039;s wide range of healing powers.

鈥? Year-round sun protection is important

Get the Facts
鈥? Year-round sun protection is important
鈥? The sun%26#039;s harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation can penetrate many types of clothes
鈥? It can also go through automobile and residential windows
鈥? It can damage your eyes, contributing to cataracts, macular degeneration, and eyelid cancers
鈥? When you%26#039;re on snow, ice, or water your face and eyes are at almost twice the risk of UV damage because of

What is the best skin moisturizer to use?
I%26#039;d like something that will give my skin a shine and glow that lasts even hours after being applied.Something that will keep my skin moist and soft.|||We have a lot of minerals in the water where I live and ever since moving here the water actually dries out my skin when I take a shower. The lotion is made with soy and stays on your skin even through washing your hands over and over again! I love it! It fairly inexpensive too.

Well the secret is, to take your omega fatty acids, so that you can feed your body the oil from the inside. Ask any italian, and they never ever suffer with dry skin, because of all the olive oil they consume etc. Good luck, coz it can be uncomfortable|||In addition to what you already are doing- drinking more water, using moisturizer- Keep the heat in yoour home a bit lower, and run a humidifer or a vaporizer- this adds moisture to the air which will help your skin from drying out so much from the heat and cold air.|||Don%26#039;t use lotion or gels.
In the winter, you need to switch to a heavier formula of moisturizer.
Try using a body butter or creme each morning and night.
Also, Badger Balm is wonderful..you can find it on the web. It%26#039;s a heavy duty salve for really dry areas...like knees, ankles and elbows.
