How do you get rid of dry skin on the face?

Its wintertime and my face is like the desert, and flaking beyond belief. I cant make it go away with normal lotion (plus that really breaks mo out in the end) and soap and water makes it dryer.





Can someone give me some hints, tips, or tricks?|||The lotion Moisturel is amazing!


I use it because my acne medication makes my skin dry and flake. It%26#039;s non comedogenic so it doesn%26#039;t make you break out or give you oily skin. It%26#039;s the best I%26#039;ve been using it for 5 years. You can buy it at drug stores over the counter!|||Use topical Vitamin E or lotions containing Vitamin E.





The following are other vitamins that can help prevent or heal dry skin when taken orally or used topically.





Research has shown that using vitamin A as a topical skin treatment also helps decrease signs of dryness and aging.





Vitamin B and Vitamin C. Vitamin C is necessary to produce collagen which helps new tissue develop and strengthens the blood vessels, both of which help your skin maintain proper circulation and moisture.





Vitamin E has been shown to eliminate both dryness and itching skin.

I used to get dry skin after shaving, next mostly, and I started using Gillette Sensitive Skin After Shave Lotion. Little clear bottle, with white After Shave Moisurizing Lotion inside. Since I started this, no problems.





If you are a female, please disregard.|||Yep, pick a moisturizer. If lotions have no worked for you, try a cream. Like nivea or cetaphil, use very little, that stuff goes a long way, but should feel pretty normal and not icky.





It will take your skin to cope, drinking water would help the process.





As for bathing, switch to a moisturizing soap bar. I use a Dove brand. Though if you get an allergic reaction don%26#039;t worry just change soaps.





If all else fails, and you ichy or freaking out, go see a dermatologist. After all they are our personal skin doctors.








Oh yes, one more thing if you are flaky, I%26#039;d recommend you use some kind of exfoliate. To remove many of those dead flakes.|||Well if you use lotion that has a lot of oil in it then your skin is going to have a lot of oil in it leading to a breakout. and if you buy some acne products and follow their instructions then it will go away. And another thing, don%26#039;t stress alot, that can be another reason why you get acne|||I have the same problem including the redness. I use Eucerin products on my skin. No perfumes, dyes, etc. They make a facial lotion that is good. I use their cleanser also. Soap is drying. Whatever you use, make sure it is free of all the additives. My dermatologist recommends Eucerin.|||Yogurt-honey combination helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. This is beneficial to dry skin types. I am 34 and use it all the time, it helps alot without it being oily and cause breakouts.|||Use a face wash with exfoliate to get rid of the skin and then put dry skin face lotion on it!|||try oil-free moisturizer|||creams hun, vaseline intensive care or just vaseline. it works wonders, its what i use as i hav the same problem|||moisturize|||lotion the soft kind like from avon|||you have to drink more water -- and no soda. Soda makes your skin dry too!
