How does the your skin color achieved by tanning fade overtime?

I%26#039;m talking about indoor tanning. I tanned last summer (indoor tanning on the beds) about 5 sessions and I got a really nice deep color. The color lasted a while a couple of months but after time it gradually faded and eventually I%26#039;m back to my normal original color I was wondering HOW and WHY does the color fade?|||you have several layers of skin...but only the tope 3 layers take in the color from tanning...over time..daily...you shed skin and if you dont keep tanning then eventually all the layers of skin that were tanned have shedded!|||Your skin is constantly peeling and the layers underneath are continuously getting closer to your original colors which explains the color fading. Also it is really dangerous to do indoor tanning-even more dangerous than outside tanning. Melanoma cancer can be brought on by only a few times of tanning and getting burnt. You should just find a good bronzer.|||Your skin sheds and replaces itself all the time, that is what causes your tan to fade. If you want it to last a little bit longer, moisturize your skin as much as possible.
